1. Introduction
1.1 This Cookies Policy explains how Spectrus (Spectrus, we, us or our) uses cookies and similar technologies in connection with the Spectrus websites, applications and services (the Service).
1.2 This Cookies Policy forms part of, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service. Terms such as Service, Deck and Prospect have the meanings given in our Terms of Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information more generally.
1.3 Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device to store information. We also use similar technologies, such as software development kits, pixels, tags, local storage, and device or browser identifiers. In this Cookies Policy, references to cookies include these similar technologies.
1.4 Where our use of cookies involves personal information, we handle that information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles and, where they apply, the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union and of the United Kingdom (the GDPR) and applicable United States state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (the CCPA).
2. How we use cookies across the Service
2.1 We use cookies differently depending on the part of the Service concerned. In summary:
(a) our signed-in application uses only strictly necessary cookies;
(b) our marketing website at spectrus.io uses analytics and session recording, including Microsoft Clarity; and
(c) our public Deck pages are cookieless and are not session recorded.
2.2 Each of these is explained below.
3. Our application (strictly necessary only)
3.1 The signed-in Spectrus application uses cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the Service, including to authenticate you, keep you signed in, maintain your session and keep the Service secure.
3.2 These cookies are used without the need for consent, because the Service cannot function properly without them. We do not use analytics or session recording cookies in the signed-in application. If you disable strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Service may not work.
4. Our marketing website (analytics and session recording)
4.1 On our marketing website at spectrus.io, we use analytics cookies and a session recording and analytics tool provided by Microsoft Corporation, known as Microsoft Clarity.
4.2 These technologies help us understand how visitors find and use our website, including which pages they view and how they navigate, so that we can measure and improve the website. Microsoft Clarity records and replays interactions with the website, including mouse movements, clicks, taps, scrolling and navigation, and produces heatmaps and aggregated statistics.
4.3 Microsoft acts as a provider of the Microsoft Clarity tool and may process the information it collects in accordance with the Microsoft Privacy Statement and the Microsoft Clarity terms, which are available on Microsoft's website, and may use that information for its own purposes as described in those terms.
4.4 The analytics and session recording technologies described in this clause 4 are not strictly necessary. We use them in accordance with clause 6.
4.5 The Service is provided by Hybrid Acquisition Pty Ltd, and references in this Cookies Policy to Spectrus, we, us and our are references to Hybrid Acquisition Pty Ltd.
5. Public Deck pages are cookieless
5.1 Public Deck pages, for example pages served at spectrus.io/p/, do not use cookies, do not use Microsoft Clarity, and are not session recorded.
5.2 Engagement with a Deck is measured using cookieless and anonymous methods that do not place or read cookies or other identifiers on the visitor's device, do not record the visitor's screen, and are not linked across separate openings or used to identify an individual. Where we derive an approximate location, we keep it to a city level, as described in our Privacy Policy.
5.3 We take this approach because Deck pages involve individuals who are not our users, and we consider cookie based tracking and session recording of them inappropriate.
6. Consent and your choices
6.1 Consent. The analytics and session recording technologies on our marketing website are not strictly necessary. Where required by applicable law, we present a consent notice on our website and use those technologies only where you give consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time, and withdrawal does not affect anything done before it.
6.2 Opt-out preference signals. Where you use a recognised opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, we will treat it as a request to opt out to the extent required by applicable law.
6.3 Browser controls. Most browsers let you view, manage, block and delete cookies through their settings. The method varies by browser. If you block or delete cookies, some features may not work as intended, and you may need to set your preferences again.
6.4 Analytics opt-out. You can opt out of Microsoft Clarity by declining consent where a consent notice is presented, by using an opt-out preference signal where available, or by using the controls described in the Microsoft materials referred to in clause 4.3.
6.5 More information. For more information about how we handle personal information, and about your privacy rights and choices, please see our Privacy Policy, or contact us using the details in clause 8.
7. Changes to this Cookies Policy
We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time. The current version is the version published in the Service, and it takes effect when posted. Where a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
